LEMITEC was founded in response to a specific process engineering challenge. During a research project, Professor Friedrich Meuser of the Technical University of Berlin needed a decanter centrifuge that could continuously process a product flow rate of only five liters per hour.
After searching for a suitable laboratory decanter centrifuge, it was clear that no such solution was available on the market. The machines offered by established centrifuge manufacturers at the time were designed for significantly higher capacities and could only be operated efficiently at throughput rates of approximately 500 to 600 liters per hour or more.
This led to the development of an entirely new class of equipment: a compact laboratory decanter centrifuge designed specifically for small product volumes and research applications.
From Innovation to Company
The first prototype attracted considerable interest from researchers and industrial users facing similar separation challenges. The demand for a high-performance decanter centrifuge suitable for laboratory and pilot-scale applications demonstrated the clear need for such a solution.
To develop, manufacture, and commercialize this technology further, LEMITEC was founded in 1997.
Expertise in Laboratory and Pilot-Scale Centrifugation
LEMITEC is currently a leading manufacturer of decanter centrifuges for low- and medium-throughput applications. Our machines have a processing range of 1 to 300 liters per hour and are used worldwide in laboratories, pilot plants, and industrial production environments.
We manufacture our products at our Berlin facility using modern CNC machining technology. This high level of in-house production enables flexibility, short development cycles, and efficient implementation of customer-specific requirements.
Tailored modifications and application-specific solutions are an integral part of our engineering approach.
